Privacy Policy

FlipStack is a resale inventory and pricing tool for individual sellers. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your rights in relation to it.

1. Information We Collect

FlipStack collects only what is necessary to provide its core features:

Photos you choose to scan. When you use the Scan feature, the photos you select or take are sent to our secure server for AI analysis. Photos are used only to generate a listing title, description, and price estimate. They are not stored on our servers after processing is complete.
Inventory data you enter. Item details (titles, prices, purchase costs, sale dates, condition notes) are stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage. This data never leaves your device except as described below.
Your name. Optionally entered during onboarding and stored locally on your device only.
Platform and fee preferences. Stored locally on your device only.

2. How We Use Your Information

Photos are sent to our backend server (hosted on Railway) solely to be passed to the Anthropic Claude AI API for image analysis. The analysis produces listing content and a price estimate, which is returned to your device. Photos are not retained on our servers.
Inventory and settings data is used only to power the app's features on your device. It is not transmitted to any server.
We do not use any of your data for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

FlipStack uses the following third-party services to operate:

Anthropic Claude API — powers the AI scanning feature. Photos you submit for scanning are processed by Anthropic's systems in accordance with Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
Railway — our backend server infrastructure. Acts as a secure proxy between the app and the Anthropic API. No data is stored on Railway beyond what is needed to complete the request.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.

4. Data Storage and Security

All inventory data, preferences, and your name are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage, a standard iOS secure local storage mechanism. This data does not leave your device.

Photos sent for AI scanning are transmitted over HTTPS to our server. Our server communicates with the Anthropic API over HTTPS. We apply rate limiting and input validation to protect against misuse.

No API keys or authentication credentials are stored on your device.

5. Data Retention

Photos submitted for scanning are not retained on our servers after the AI analysis is complete, typically within a few seconds of submission.

All data stored on your device remains under your control. You can delete all app data at any time by going to Settings → Reset all data within the app, or by deleting the app from your device.

6. Children's Privacy

FlipStack is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

Because FlipStack stores data locally on your device and does not maintain user accounts or server-side personal data stores, you retain full control over your data at all times. You can:

View all your data within the app at any time
Delete all data using Settings → Reset all data
Remove all data by deleting the app from your device

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
